The Kanye West Australian Tour 2014 has added extra dates following the box office being pounded in anticipation of the Yeezus Tour hitting Down Under.

Promoters Live Nation have confirmed second and final dates for extra headline shows in Melbourne and Sydney, increasing the capacity for fans looking to catch the hip hop superstar’s first visit to Australia in two years following huge demand in the ticket pre-sale.

Melbourne fans will get a second and final show at Rod Laver Arena on Wednesday 7th May while Sydney will get a second and final appearance at QANTAS Credit Union Arena on Sunday 11th May. Tickets for these extra dates will go on general sale with the remaining dates of the tour, on 10am Monday 24th February.

Demand for the Kanye West Australian Tour 2014 saw thousands of tickets scooped up in the Live Nation members pre-sale last Tuesday (18th February), so expect tickets to vanish quickly when the general box office opens Monday morning.

Whether you love him, loathe him, or you’re a recently converted Yeezusite, Kanye West is bringing his huge Yeezus arena spectacular to Australia this May.

Kanye West will be performing at arenas in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney with his huge songbook, featuring hits stretching back to his 2004 The College Dropout (which celebrated its 10th anniversary recently), through to the polarising 2013 Yeezus after which his latest stage show is named after.

Last in Australia as the headliner of the 2012 Big Day Out along with a series of high concept sideshows, the 10x Grammy-winning rapper’s Yeezus tour matches – if not trumps – the size and scale of his last visit Down Under. Touring North America and Canada last year, West treated audiences to epic setlists and all manner of theatrics – including constructing his own mountain during the course of the show and even meeting Jesus (see below).

Most recently, at a show in Newark, NJ, the Yeezus Tour saw West embarking on one of his famous on-stage rants, as Consequence Of Sound reports. The 20-minute tirade included the lyrical content of his latest album, the music media, Apple, the Grammys, and fellow rapper Drake’s dig at Rolling Stone magazine (watch at bottom).

Joining Kanye West for his Australian tour is none other than his ‘Runaway’ collaborator, Pusha T, making his debut visit to Australia.

Signed to West’s label, GOOD Music, he has appeared on label compilation album Cruel Summer five times, including the singles ‘Mercy’ (with Kanye West, Big Sean and 2 Chainz) and ‘New God Flow’ (with West). While working on the compilation, he was also working on his debut studio album, My Name Is My Name, released to critical acclaim last year.

Don’t miss your chance to see what will be one of the year’s most talked about tours.
