Kanye West fans will have to wait a little longer for his upcoming album, with the rapper again postponing the release of Yandhi.

Earlier this year, Kanye West went through a rather productive period, overseeing the release of five albums in as many weeks. However, it seems that he was far from done, announcing the release of Yandhi back in September.

Ostensibly a follow-up to Yeezus, the record features similarly minimal artwork, and was originally slated to be released on September 20th  – coinciding with West’s Saturday Night Live appearance.

However, as that date came and went, Kanye soon revealed that the record was being pushed back until November 23rd so that he could go to Africa to finish recording it.

“I felt this energy when I was in Chicago, I felt the roots,” Kanye explained to TMZ. “We have to go to what is known as Africa.”

“A person from my management staff, from our management staff, had suggested because the album is so good. It’s my… You know, I started incorporating sounds that you’ve never heard before and pushing.”

“And having concepts that people don’t talk about. We have concepts talking about body-shaming and women being looked down upon for how many people that they slept with. And, you know, it’s just a full Ye album.”

Now, with the new release date merely ten days away, Kanye has again delayed the record, with no word of when we might hear it.

Taking to Twitter, West expressed his excitement at performing with Kid Cudi as Kids See Ghosts, before breaking the news to his fans.

“After performing again, I realize the new album I’ve been working on isn’t ready yet,” West wrote. “I’ll announce the release date once it’s done. Thank you for understanding.”

At this stage, it’s not clear when we’ll eventually be receiving the new record. While some fans are a bit disappointed to continue waiting for the record, some have begun to jovially liken it to Dr. Dre’s Detox, which went through a 14-year period of delays before eventually being cancelled.

Of course, considering the fact that Kanye was still recording parts of Ye until the day of the album’s release, there’s a good chance that it could drop at absolutely any moment. At this stage, we’ll have to sit and wait to hear more.
