In another example of an increasingly disturbing trend, Death Row Records boss Marion ‘Suge’ Knight is suing Kanye West for about $1 million in damages after being shot in the leg at a Shore Club party hosted by the awards ceremony serial pest in Miami in 2005. Where once upon a time rappers would settle differences by grabbing a few homies and doing an ol’ fashioned drive by, they’re now spraying each other in court rather than with bullets from a Uzi 9 millimetre.
Knight claims that the security at the party was inadequate, a charge West and the club’s owners deny. A trial date has been set in the US District Court of December 6th. Knight’s lawyer Marc Brumer says that his client ran up $200,000 in medical bills after the shooting and is also claiming for a $135,000 earring he supposedly lost in the incident.
