Former Melbourne rockers Little Red and The Vasco Era will reform for a one off gig at the Corner Hotel in support of Star Gray, a friend currently struggling with cancer.

Diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease at just 6 years old Star has never had great luck with her health, but according to friends and family she has always maintained an upbeat attitude. Now at 20 years old Star is eagerly awaiting her 21st birthday, but now a battle with cancer has her hospital bound.

Rad aunt Kate wasn’t content to let cancer ruin Stars big day, creating a mycause fundraiser that has raised to date raised almost $16,000 to help Star “get out of her hospital bed and have the best 21st birthday ever”.

The fundraiser has become a rallying cry for several Aussie music legends, including Dan Sultan, Big Scary and The Pretty Littles, who have generously offered to donate their time in support of the cause.

The reformation of both bands comes as a real surprise, Little Red dissolving way back in 2012 and Vasco Era going the same way in early 2013. While surprising, this is definitely one of the best reasons any band has got back together…..I think we can all agree that cancer can get fucked.

Tickets to the April 3rd fundraiser are selling fast over on The Corner’s website.
