Hot on the heels of their brand-new album ‘Atonement’, out now, Killswitch Engage have hit us with the official visuals for current single The Signal Fire. It might just be a simple performance clip, but it’s what Killswitch engage did with it that makes this one of the most special moments in the annuls of heavy music.

For the video counterpart to The Signal Fire, Killswitch Engage deployed both their current vocalist, Jesse Leach, and former vocalist Howard Jones for some spectacular duelling vocals. Leach and Jones square off for the clip for a playful exchange resulting in a strange but wonderful mix of brutal and straight up endearing – the dudes could barely contain their smiles for the shoot.

The collab is the first time the pair have appeared together in an official video from the band.

“This video is a demonstration of solidarity and unity,” says Leach. “This is for the fans and this is our testimony to all who see this video. In these times we live in, I believe this is an important message — not just for us as a band and our fans but for all of humanity. This is a call for compassion and understanding! There is strength in unity.”

Jones also commented on the unlikely collab, labelling the shoot it “another silly day at the office.”

“Good food, lots of wrestling talk, and hanging with the boys is a great way to spend the day and get a little work done. Shout out to Ian McFarland for making everything painless at the shoot. The day was all smiles — with a hint of metal.”

Atonement once again confirmed Killswitch’s position at the top of Mt. Metal, with the release finding its way to the pointy end of multiple charts throughout the world. The album was their 8th full-length in total, but their first through Sony which suggests this is merely the start of a whole new era of KSE.
