While fans of Kings of Leon have been hearing some of the new songs from their much anticipated new album Come Around Sundown live at European festivals and on their recent US tour, select music journalists have also been treated to playbacks of the album. Held in great secrecy and amidst much security at their label Sony’s headquarters, it appears that Tone Deaf’s invite got lost in the mail – probably because we blabbed that they’re headlining the Big Day Out in 2011.
Luckily for us, we hear from our mates in London that although the album isn’t the surefire bogan singalong that characterised Only By The Night, it’s still got enough classic rock hits to ensure the new tunes get sandwiched in between the Cold Chisel triple plays on commercial radio across Australia. The album comes out on October 18th, so expect it to leak around the end of September.
