KISS Drummer Eric Singer has been sworn in as an honorary police officer in Texas earlier this week before the band’s show in Houston. Naturally, he did it all in typical KISS style.
Singer wore his signature black and white “catman” makeup and a flashy KISS shirt during the official ceremony, where he received a formal letter and everything from the Wharton chief of police after accepting the position.
“Legendary KISS drummer, and friend to Law Enforcement, Eric Singer, accepts an Honorary Corporal position with the Wharton Police Department,” the Wharton Police Department posted on their Facebook.
“The letter from the Chief to Singer read in part, ‘On behalf of Chief Terry David Lynch, and the men and women of the Wharton Police Department, we appoint you to the rank of Honorary Corporal with our department, in grateful acknowledgement of the honor and respect you show all of America’s dedicated law enforcement heroes and their families.'”
In other KISS news, the band were recently called out for selling some misspelled merch on their latest tour.
The veterans of rock and roll have been underway with their worldwide tour, bopping from city to city and spreading their wings across every inch of the globe. But according to their ‘End of the Road’ tour T-shirt, they made a stop way past Cincinnati, and ended up at its sister city, Cincinnatti. Quick-eyed fans noticed the extra T which was printed upon the $50 merch item at Riverbend Music Center.
The extra “T” must be what is making the merch item so costly after all. One Twitter user took to the social media platform to write:
“Hey @KISSOnline is $50 the going rate for a shirt with the city misspelled?”
“Actual shirt being sold at the [KISS] show tonight in CINCINNATI,” noted another tweeter, saying, “Notice the spelling on the shirt … doh!”
