A left-handed sky blue Fender Mustang custom-made for the late Kurt Cobain in 1993 is set to go under the hammer.

Scott Zimmerman built the Nirvana frontman the guitar for the band’s In Utero tour. The guitar features a red mottled pickguard, and the headstock has a small decal reading”Offset Contour Body Patented.” The axe was further customized by Cobain’s guitar tech, who added a black Seymour Duncan JB pickup, and a Gotoh Tune-o-Matic bridge.

Courtney Love gifted the guitar to a fan three months after Cobain passed. The gift was accompanied by a letter, claiming that the Mustang was “was one of his favourite guitars.” The guitar is set to be sold with the handwritten letter, original hardshell case and the FEDEX shipping document from Love.
