Lamb Of God guitarist Mark Morton has confirmed an unreleased collaboration with Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington will eventually see the light of day.
Back in 2017, the music world was undoubtedly shocked to hear that Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington had passed away at the age of 41.
A prolific musician, it has since been revealed that there a number of unreleased collaborations that Bennington took part in, including one recorded with Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash. However, Lamb Of God’s Mark Morton has revealed the track he recorded with Bennington will indeed see the light of day at some point.
Back in April of 2017, Chester Bennington revealed he was in the studio with Mark Morton and Lamb Of God producer Josh Wilbur. While he briefly shared an example of some of the lyrics written for the collaboration, Morton took to Twitter to share a selfie with Chester, captioning it with the message “Sounds KILLER too!”

Of course, in the wake of Chester Bennington’s passing, it remained unclear as to whether or not these recordings would be released or shelved indefinitely. Thankfully, Morton has now assured us we’ll one day be hearing this collaboration in some capacity.
Taking to Twitter earlier today, Morton was asked by a fan about how far the pair got into their collaboration. “Chester and I made some really cool music together that we were both SUPER stoked about,” Morton revealed. “And you will hear it!”

While July of this year marked the first anniversary of Chester Bennington’s death, his Linkin Park bandmate Mike Shinoda also opened up in regards to the future of the band, admitting that he’s not sure what’s in store at this point.
“I don’t really know where it’s gonna go,” Shinoda explained. “I’m basically trying to keep everything really open (right now).”
“I’m more excited about shows now than any time I can remember, just even doing a club show the other night for 600 people,” he continued. “I’d written like a set for 60 minutes and I was onstage for 85, just kind of milking it. I was actually talking a lot, I added songs to the set and I was just enjoying being up there. We were just having this really cool, communal energy or something.”
“So I’m really just looking forward to more of that and wherever that takes me.”
While it’s not clear when we’ll be hearing Chester Bennington’s work with Lamb Of God’s Mark Morton, we can rest assured that it is indeed on the way, and that it will be just as brilliant as we hope it will be.
