Earlier this year, Robert Plant squashed rumours of a live Led Zeppelin reunion to celebrate the band’s 50th anniversary, hinting at the possibility of the release of a book that would chronicle the life and times of the band.

Now, Robert Plant, John Paul Johns and Jimmy Page have reunited to announce the release of the book, Led Zeppelin By Led Zeppelin, set for a release this coming October.

The book is set to feature illustrations, photographs of the members on and offstage and unpublished artworks and images from the band’s illustrious archives.

“Led Zeppelin By Led Zeppelin is the first and only official illustrated book to be produced in collaboration with the members of the band.”

“Celebrating 50 years since their formation, it covers the group’s unparalleled musical career and features photographs of Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and John Bonham on and offstage, in candid moments and in the recording studio. This definitive 400-page volume includes previously unpublished photos, artwork from the Led Zeppelin archives and contributions from photographers around the world,” says the official description.

The announcement came via the band’s official Twitter account this morning, featuring the reunited band holding what looks to be a hefty book.

Pre-orders for the book are available now.

John Bonham’s son Jason Bonham recently visited Australia, sitting down in an interview with Tone Deaf to explain why Led Zeppelin was “better than any other band”.

“Their musicality – their songs still sound so fresh, and each album is so different and unique, yet you knew it was Led Zeppelin. And there aren’t many bands that can do that these days.”
