Purveyor of ambient heartbreak folk-prog, Sydney based solo artist Lëura returns with her highly anticipated second single ‘Shallows’. Shallows’ paints a heart-wrenching representation of helplessly watching a loved one slowly drown in depression, whilst simultaneously sinking into the illness yourself. Lyrically, the ballad also echoes the complex agony of unrequited love, where both sides end up unintentionally pulling each other under.
Set in a lonely room covered in dust, the video is a stark, unflinching gaze trained on vulnerability and the slow sink downwards. Showing interplay of light and darkness, the video is a sonic reflection of the exquisite highs and deep lows of its accompanying track.
