Scottish musician Lewis Capaldi has been the latest victim in the firing line of Noel Gallagher’s insults.

The High Flying Birds frontman has been promoting his latest record by weighing in on every Tom, Dick and Harry. In a recent interview with Radio X, Gallagher decided that it was time to turn on the state of music in 2019; specifically the output of Lewis Capaldi.

When asked if there is a certain song from recent years that he wishes he wrote, to which he proclaimed, “music is fucking wank at the moment.”

“Who’s this Capaldi fella?” he added. “Who the fuck’s that idiot?”

A rinsing that filled Lewis Capaldi with nothing but pure, unadulterated glee. The musician took to Instagram stories to share him basking in the glory of being slagged off by a Gallagher brother. “Fucking come on!,” he shared.

“Fucking peaked – slagged off by Noel Gallagher!” Capaldi continued. “Number 1 single – who gives a fuck? Number 1 album – who gives a fuck?” he added. “Noel Gallagher has just slagged me off. This is dreams coming true.

“It’s Father’s Day and I’m being slagged off by a man who’s old enough to be my dad, and I’ve never been more happy.”

Capaldi finished off the series of celebrations by maxing out to the classic Oasis track, ‘Stop Crying Your Heart Out’. You can watch the footage below.

Capaldi released his debut record, Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent, in May. The record peaked at number one on the UK albums chart.
