Last Friday, Lil Uzi Vert announced that he would be quitting music. The 24-year-old Philly rapper posted an elusive story on Instagram sharing that he is “done with music”.

The ‘New Patek’ rapper has since taken to social media to clarify the vague post. Uzi shared a video via HotNewHipHop, claiming that he wants to release music but his label won’t allow it.

Uzi claims “I’m tryna drop something… I’ve been tryna drop something new. Bro, this is my life now. All I can do is make music and sit back and wait for y’all response and make visions to this shit,” He continued, “You think I don’t wanna drop music? You just gotta understand when people don’t love you, they’ll hold your life if you sign a motherfuckin’ … Hold that shit against you.”

Uzi then went on to compare signing a record deal with snitching. He shared “You ain’t supposed to sign no muthafuckin’ paper in the streets because that’s rattin. How the fuck I even sign this shit as a deal? Muthafucka set myself up. What other way I was supposed to let this shit go? Shit, it be all good at first just like them rats”
