Lil Uzi Vert has dropped a casual $24 million to put a natural pink diamond in his face, which is totally unnecessary but undeniably cool.

Is this the most extravagant hip-hop-meets-jewellery splurge ever? The rapper revealed the news on his Twitter on Saturday, January 30th as he proudly shared that he’s finally finished paying off the expensive item that he financed through the famed jeweller, Elliot Eliantte, as per Complex.

“I’ve been paying for a natural pink diamond from Elliot for years now,” Uzi posted, saying that he first started payments on the diamond in 2017. “This one Stone cost so much I’ve been paying for it since 2017. That was the first time I saw a real natural pink diamond. A lot of M’s in my face.”

Uzi also said that it was “10 or 11 carats”, meaning that each carat was worth more than $2 million. He also insisted that it was a worthwhile purchase, given the natural element meant the diamond would retain its value. And who said rappers could be out of touch?

Surprisingly, it seems like Uzi isn’t the first rapper to have diamond put in his own face. Sauce Walka called him out jokingly on Instagram after he found out about Uzi’s plan: “Keep following The leader lol 😂 YALL LOOK AT @eliantte @liluzivert GETTIN TO COPY A NIGGA DRIP,” Sauce wrote while referencing his own name and Uzi’s feature with Future and DJ Esco “Too Much Sauce.” “dick munching my style for 4-5 years lol yal still can’t see this shit 😂‼️ #DRIPGOD IS MY NAME #TooMuchSauce lol S/o @liluzivert I KNO IM THE INFLUENCE & YOUR THE INSPIRATION.”

Honestly, it’s a far more interesting thing to do with that amount of money than what the rich usually spend it on. Move over Bugatti, get out of here McMansion, it’s all about inserting shiny items into your own body now.
