Lime Cordiale have blown up in a big way over the past twelve months, and with all tour duties currently on hold, the band from Sydney’s Northern Beaches are ready to give something back to the Aussie music industry.

The coronavirus pandemic has seen a huge spike in musicians live streaming their performances, so the boys are teaming up with Mercury Cider to help emerging Australian talent get their music in front of more eyes and ears.

The project is called Mercury Rising, and the band have hand-picked three exciting acts for performances over the next three weeks. Lime Cordiale will host the first Mercury Rising live stream this Friday, May 22 at 6pm.

So who’ll be featured? Over the three weeks, Lime Cordiale have picked Sydney outfits Bread Club and Pyjama Sundays, as well as Canberra band ARCHIE, for the series which will be hosted on Mercury Cider’s Facebook Page. Each band will perform original tunes as well as a cover of a song from Lime Cordiale’s yet-to-be-released second album 14 Steps To A Better You.

“We are excited to be a part of Mercury Rising,” say the band. “We’ve always been passionate about supporting emerging talent through projects like our mini-festival The Squeeze, so we jumped at the chance to be a part of this initiative.”

“This will be the first time we get to hear other artists cover songs off our new album 14 Steps to a Better You, and we can’t wait to hear how each of the bands interpret the tracks.”

Mercury Cider will be giving away a stack of goodies during each stream, and proceedings will wrap up with a Q&A by the band, as well as a performance by Oli and Louis Leimbach themselves.

Lime Cordiale have been hosting their own live stream series – the corona sessions – over the past couple of weeks. So far they’ve delivered us covers of Approachable Members Of Your Local Community, and more recently, Aussie wonderkid Ruel.
