Now, this is something we’ve been waiting on for a long time, as the brotherly duo of Lime Cordiale finally announce their debut album Permanent Vacation and a national tour to go along with it, as well as their playful new tease of the new album, ‘Can I Be Your Lover’?

Having built up a pretty dedicated following over the last five years with a string of seriously entertaining music videos, Oli and Louis Leimbach have been gradually refining their style, throwing all sorts of musical influences at the wall on the way to their long-awaited debut.

Speaking of those great videos, they just dropped a seriously slick clip for their lead single ‘Temper Temper’ last month, showing off the mirror-sheen alt-indie we can expect on the rest of the record when it debuts on October 13 through Chugg/MGM.

The tour, meanwhile, is set to be a suitably big one for such an occasion, taking in 15 dates across the country from October through to December, including a couple of all-ages gigs for under age fans, which is always great to see, and even a free gig in Byron.

The band “spent a lot of time creating these songs and exploring their sound,” they say of the new record, and “wanted a collection of songs that really have a personality and vibe”, not losing any of the character they showed off on fun tracks like the faux-French ‘Bonne Nuit, Je Suis’ or the raunchy ‘Hanging Upside Down’ in their earlier days.

For this, they’ve brought on Dave Hammer (Thundamentals, Nicole Millar, Washington) to handle their debut, pulling together the varied influences that have seen them sharing stages with everyone from Ballpark Music and The Rubens to Sticky Fingers and Bootleg Rascal, playing festivals like Bluesfest and BIGSOUND.

The band’s ethos has always been to hone their craft as much as they can on the live stage, and after a bit of time off from touring, the brothers can’t wait to get back out there.

“We’ve had too much time away from playing live shows with the making of this album”, Oli says. “We put everything into the record and now it’s in the can, so we’re fresh and ready to put on a live show that’s bigger and better than before. We’ll have a larger band, delivering a bigger show, but we’re still gonna keep this party tight and intimate like it’s in our own living room.”

Tickets are on sale now, and Permanent Vacation is also up for pre-order, which also immediately nets you album tracks ‘Temper Temper’ and ‘Can I Be Your Lover’ as an appetiser – check out the dates, and the new single ‘Temper Temper’, below.
