Metallica aren’t quite the band you think of when it comes to spreading Christmas cheer, nor can you imagine them reading storybooks to small children.
Yet Lars Ulrich got well into the Christmas spirit on Jo Whiley’s BBC Radio 2 show by reading children’s book ‘The Dinosaur That Pooped Christmas’.
The book is “about a boy who gets a dinosaur for Christmas which goes on an unstoppable festive eating rampage until Christmas is gone. The only way to get Christmas back is for the dinosaur to poop it out.” Sounds like a charming tale.
Funnily enough, the book was written by Tom Fletcher and Doguie Poynter, two members of pop punk band McFly. Listen to Ulrich’s sterling reading of this cautionary tale by clicking the link in the below tweet. Good night, children – off to never, never land.
