‘Be My Kind’ is the 2nd single from Little Bastard’s debut album. According to front-man Johnny Took, ‘Be My Kind’ is a “dirty war and it belongs up there in your head”. “Everyone has dirty thoughts. But sometimes it’s best if you just leave them in your head. Musically, I really wanted to have a drum machine on the album – it really pushes the limits of the genre.”
Directed by Rhys Day from We Are Propellor, the music video for ‘Be My Kind’ was inspired by the trailer method of storytelling; each shot designed to pay homage to scenes for a would be feature film. The clip draws inspiration from the aesthetic of Little Bastard’s home in Sydney’s Inner West and takes the viewer through the fearless highs and deflating lows of their early 20’s. The shots were designed to be instantly recognisable so that viewers could respond to each scene through the lens of their own experience.
