Lzzy Hale, the lead singer and rhythm guitarist of hard rock outfit Halestorm, believes that most bands will not survive the coronavirus pandemic.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Hale revealed her prognosis for the live music industry, and it’s pretty bleak.

“In my opinion, without a vaccine, this is like opening up a designated section of a public pool for pissing,” she opined.

Hale revealed she is continuing work on a new album during quarantine. However, she said she is still suffering as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

“What I need to address tonight is the audacity of some people to assume that just because I’m someone of note, that I am not suffering because of all this,” she said.

Without the income provided by touring, Hale admitted that she is finding the current climate difficult. She also explained the domino effect that venue restrictions have had on those around her.

“I spend most of my time, 90% of it, on tour, which is NOT a reality right now. My crew is suffering, the future is unknown.”

“Most of the bands you know and love won’t make it out of this,” she warned.

Hale concluded her post by urging fans to obey social distancing regulations and do their part to stop the spread of germs.

“Please be smart,” she said.

“Don’t go out unless it’s necessary, and if you gotta, do curb side, wear a mask, wash/sanitize your hands. And let’s band together to end this shit!”

Lzzy Hale has also provided a link to the #RoadieStrong initiative in her bio. Through the sale of official shirts and facemasks, the #RoadieStrong campaign is aiming to raise funds for unemployed support staff affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
