Brissy singer-songwriter Mallrat is the latest in a long line of acts to have their 2020 tour plans sabotaged by the outbreak of coronavirus.

Her biggest Australian tour to date was announced off the back of hype around Mallrat peaking with her song ‘Charlie’ claiming the #3 spot in triple j’s Hottest 100 of 2019.

The entire show, centring around her new EP Driving Music has been shifted to January of 2021.

Taking to Twitter, Mallrat revealed that all current ticket holders for the 10-date tour will be contacted via email, presumably regarding their options in terms of holding onto current tickets or gaining refunds.

She also noted that the show on Thursday, 14th January at The Forum in Melbourne is now All Ages.

“New tour dates on sale now!!! And we made one of the Melbourne shows all ages,” Mallrat said. “so excited for these shows.”

Tickets remain on sale for most of the shows. One each of the shows in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney have already sold-out.

Mallrat was also named on the lineup for Groovin The Moo this year, before organisers called the regional touring festival off for 2020.

The festival was cancelled when it became apparently overseas and travel restrictions, as well as social distancing measures in place for COVID-19 would make going ahead impossible.

All ticketholders for Groovin 2020 will have their passes honoured at the 2021 edition of the festival.
