Over a year in the making, Marilyn Manson’s follow-up to 2017’s Heaven Upside Down is now finished, and Shooter Jennings states it’s a “masterpiece”.

According to outlaw country rocker and producer Shooter Jennings, the latest news on Marilyn Manson’s upcoming new album is that it’s finally good to go, and we’re just “waiting for this finished masterpiece to be released”.

It’s no surprise that Manson has been in collaboration with Jennings for a while, as back in 2019 the industrial metal musician noted that he “felt like it was a good time for change” and confirmed that he “became friends” with Jennings.

“He’s a musical genius,” Manson stated. He kind of reminds me of The Dude from The Big Lebowski… But we have this different vibe where I don’t have to really tell him what I’m thinking.”

“I didn’t know this, but he was a fan of what I did growing up, also underneath his father, Waylon Jennings. So he adds a completely different element.”

Taking to Instagram, Jennings posted a photo of himself next to a framed cover of Manson on Rolling Stone, confirming that the album was finished. This prompted Manson to comment “Love my Shooter, Misty & Pancake. Finished masterpiece album. And Matt Mahurin [creator of Rolling Stone cover]. Shit is gonna get real.”

Although this highly anticipated album was originally speculated for a 2019 release, but now seems to be wrapping up for a 2020 release, which gives us some hope in these mad times we’re in. As of right now, there is no proper release date announced, but we’re hoping that it’s soon with Jennings confirmation of a finished album.
