Mary J Blige will have a new album out in a few weeks: Strength of a Woman, which hit shelves April 28.
The lead single is an inspirational, horn-drenched soul jam named ‘Love Yourself’, and features one Kanye West, who is well-versed in preaching about self love.
“You gotta love yourself if you really wanna be with someone else,” Blige sings on the hook, stressing the importance of valuing yourself when entering into a relationship.
“I decided not to use my colour as a handicap”, Kanye raps. “He a designer, artist, producer, and he rap. Came from the Chi and wow, look what the fuck they found: a young legend coming to shut the summer down.”
Blige’s new album will be star-packed, with appearances from Missy Elliott, Migos, DJ Khaled, and Kaytranada.
