Introducing the world’s first wearable device for musicians, the Soundbrenner Pulse. Of course, that title comes from its inventors, who funded the device with a highly successful campaign on Indiegogo.

The device itself is actually pretty cool. At its core, the Soundbrenner Pulse is a metronome, but the way it keeps you in time is ingenious and creative. You wrap it around your wrist and vibrations keep the time.

“An accurate inner sense of rhythm is one of the most important characteristics of a skilled musician! Everyone from our music teachers to world class players tell us to use a metronome if we want to become a great musician,” the description reads.

“But regular metronomes are annoying to use, take the passion out of making music and haven’t improved in 200 years! That’s why we created the metronome of the 21st century: The Soundbrenner Pulse. It’s packed with so many awesome features that you’ll look for excuses to use it more often!”

In addition to letting you literally feel the beat, the Soundbrenner Pulse allows users to create tempo maps or synchronize the vibrations with a song via MIDI using Ableton Live, Logic Pro X, Avid Pro Tools, and more.

Check out a promo for the item below. As for whether it’s actually the first wearable device for musicians, the inventors write, “Technically even a guitar is a ‘wearable device’ for musicians. However, what is commonly known as a wearable device today is a connected piece of electronics with communication and data input technologies.”
