Megadeth, Lamb Of God, Trivium and In Flames were scheduled to kick off a monolithic run of US shows this month as part of The Metal Tour Of The Year.
Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the bands were forced to reschedule those touring plans to 2021. It’s not all bad news, however. All four metal lords have announced that in place of the scheduled tour, they will host the streaming event to end all streaming events.
The Metal Tour Of The Year broadcast will kick off at 2pm PDT / 5pm EDT / 10pm BST / 11pm CEST on Friday. It is set to be hosted by SiriusXM’s Jose Mangin and will feature exclusive interviews and full sets from each band.
The performances set to be aired will be plucked from different dates and venues. Megadeth will stream their secret 2016 set at Brooklyn’s St Vitus, Lamb Of God unveiling their surprise House Of Vans gig from February this year, Trivium boasting a set from 2019 at DreamHack Dallas, and In Flames’ performance from their own festival, Borgholm Brinner, in Sweden.
In addition to the broadcast, The Metal Tour Of The Year has also launched a new merch range, with a portion of the proceeds going towards Crew Nation. So put on your filthiest mosh outfit and metaltouroftheyear.com.
Earlier this week Bassist David Ellefson of Megadeth has confirmed that the band is in the studio and recording a new album.
Ellefson revealed that the new album is on the way as he and drummer Dirk Verbeuren are in the studio and working on tracks for an album that has been on the brew since 2017.

The band were scheduled to start chipping away at their sixteenth album back in February, before our fair lady coronavirus turned the world on its head, causing a delay on the new record.
