‘Savage’ rapper Megan Thee Stallion has released a statement, revealing that she was shot multiple times on Sunday, July 12th.

“On Sunday morning, I suffered gunshot wounds, as a result of a crime that was committed against me and done with the intention to physically harm me,” she wrote on Instagram today. “I was never arrested, the police officers drove me to the hospital where I underwent surgery to remove the bullets.”

The musician —real name Megan Pete— did not reveal who shot her or why. “I’m incredibly grateful to be alive and that I’m expected to make a full recovery,” she wrote.

Pete released the statement to correct an inaccurate narrative woven by the media. Presumably referring to a TMZ story on Lanez’s arrest that reported she was treated only for broken glass in her foot, but failed to mention the shooting.

The statement was shared following a slew of reports claiming that she was at the scene of  Tory Lanez’s arrest on a felony gun charge in Hollywood Hills on Sunday, July 12th.

As TMZ report, Pete and another woman were present at the time of Lanez’s arrest. Police were responding to a “disturbance” call outside of a Hollywood Hills home around 4:30 a.m.

When law enforcement arrived at the scene, they reportedly saw a confrontation between people arguing in an SUV before gunshots were fired and the car drove away.
