Two US metalcore outfits have tested the boundaries of where bands can play shows, performing an impromptu gig at a US fast food chain.

Ask anyone and they’ll likely tell you that dinner and the show is quite an enjoyable experience. However, these shows are very rarely anything that feature screamed vocals and downtuned guitars.

However, two bands in the US have decided to change this very notion, turning up at a Wendy’s in Tennessee to perform an impromptu gig.

You might recall how just last month, the official Twitter account of US fast food chain Wendy’s decided to celebrate #NationalRoastDay by mercilessly mocking a bunch of metalcore acts.

From Hawthorne Heights to Atreyu, no one was safe, but now the restaurant has continued its affair with the metalcore genre.

As AltPress reports, Illinois bands Capital Vices and Makena have been out on the road together, performing on their Bring Your Dad tour.

However, when the groups found themselves in Knoxville, Tennessee on Tuesday night, they decided to hit up their local Wendy’s to play a show.

“We stopped to use the restroom and just jokingly asked if we could play,” a member of Capital Vices explained to AltPress. “And the manager let us because it was her birthday and she wanted us to do it as a birthday present.”

Footage of the show is incredibly wild, with raw vocals and heavy drums filling the restaurant as customers eat food, and audience members mosh around.

Both bands only ended up playing brief, ten-minute sets, with Capital Vices noting this was “to spare them an extended amount of trouble for their drive-thru business.”

“It was an eye opening experience especially for our first tour,” the band continued. “Not one of us thought we’d ever play inside a Wendy’s, let alone a fast food restaurant.”

“It was definitely a humorous experience for us and it’s something that we’ll remember for the rest of our lives.”

While Wendy’s themselves have acknowledged the performance, noting that “Dewey Finn [Jack Black’s School Of Rock character] would be proud,” there’s no word yet as to when the fast food chain will be opening their own venue.
