With COVID-19 putting many people around the globe into financial hardships, Metallica is hosting the ‘All Within My Hands Month Of Giving’ during May.

We’ve seen a lot of bands do what they can to help alleviate the strain caused by COVID-19, between livestream concerts, auctioning off merch for relief funds, and now metal icons Metallica are pledging themselves for the Month Of Giving.

Through their All Within My Hands charity, Metallica would typically be hosting their “national coordinated Day of Service this month, but this year is different.”

“Inspired by the launch of #GivingTuesdayNow, a global day of unity taking place on May 5th as a response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19, we decided to make the entire month of May our #MonthOfGiving,” the band states.

“Rather than focusing on one campaign, every Tuesday throughout May we will spotlight a different organisation we are supporting through our grants for COVID-19 relief,” the band detailed. “Each week we will share with you what these organisations do, show you how you can chip in, and [the band] will donate proceeds from select merchandise to each organisation.”

Charities that will be on board for receiving the funds raise are Feeding America, who partner with multiple food banks across the U.S., Crew Nation’s Global Relief Fund for live music crews, as well as the United States Bartenders Guild Foundation, and Direct Relief, according to Rolling Stone.

Additionally, the metal collective will be contributing the proceeds from their weekly featured merchandise, as well as donating the funds they raise during their #MetallicaMondays streaming concerts.

“We know times are tough for so many right now, and we truly appreciate the phenomenal support you’ve given us, our All Within My Hands, and these other worthy organisations,” drummer Lars Ulrich said.
