Metallica descended on Olympiastadion in Berlin, Germany on July 6th as part of the European leg of their WorldWired tour. As tradition goes, during each Metallica gig, guitarist Kirk Hammett and bassist Robert Trujillo take the spotlight to perform a little ditty together; Metallica setlists officially list this interlude as the “Kirk/Rob Doodle”.

Recent performances have seen the pair work their way through covers from artists local to the cities they’re playing. During their Olympiastadion tour, the band paid their respects to Berlin metal giants, Rammstein. Hammett and Trujillo tore their way though a brief cover of Rammstein track, ‘Engel’. Whilst Trujillo attempted to growl through the track in German, the pair relied on their devoted crowd to hold down the vocal fort.

The cover arrived two days after Rammstein themselves played the exact same stadium. Check out the footage below.

During their Manchester gig, Hammett and Trujillo performed a cover of hometown heroes The Stone Roses ‘I Wanna Be Adored.’ The band also recently shared epic footage of the band performing their iconic track ‘Master of Puppets’ in the middle of a torrential rainstorm.

Australian fans will be able to experience all these antics in the flesh when Metallica head down under later this year for the Aussie leg of their WorldWired tour. The band will be bringing along metals favourite masked deviants, Slipknot. It’s destined to be a metal feast you won’t forget. Check out the tour dates and ticket information below.
