Mick Jagger has successfully completed his heart valve procedure in New York today. Billboard has reported that the operation was a triumph and Jagger is recovering in good health.

According to the report, doctors were able to access Jagger’s heart valve through his femoral artery. Jagger is now under observation on the chance that complications such as excess bleeding arise. He will have to rest for four to five days to avoid any bleeding issues. Though it’s likely that he will be up-and-moving in mere days.

Back in March, The Rolling Stones, were forced to postpone their scheduled North American tour. This was due to the heart operation Jagger underwent. The tour was initially scheduled to kick off in April, but it will now begin in July.

At the time of the postponement, Jagger shared the following statement: “I really hate letting you down like this. I’m devastated for having to postpone the tour but I will be working very hard to be back on stage as soon as I can.”

In related news, The Rolling Stones recently copped a bit of criticism after it was revealed that they were flogging a meet-and-greet package for an exorbitant $35,000.

A percentage of the money raised would directly benefit Community Links, a London charity that aims to tackle deprivation and inequality through providing practical support and opportunities to people that need it.
