Mike Patton’s newest band, Dead Cross, have been forced to cancel a show in Los Angeles after the singer was injured in a vehicle accident prior to the show.

As Blabbermouth reports, news of the Faith No More and Mr. Bungle singer’s accident was broken to the crowd following the completion of support band Secret Chiefs 3’s set. Following a wait of about half an hour, guitarist Michael Crain and drummer Dave Lombardo (ex-Slayer) came out on stage to let the crowd know what was going on.

“There’s been an accident,” Crain began. “Mike was in an accident. It’s not grave, but he’s unable to be here tonight. He’s hurt. So, I’m sorry, we apologise. We’re gonna reschedule, and tickets will be refunded at points of purchase.”

You can view the video of Michael Crain’s speech to the crowd below.

This news also comes only a week after the band was detained, searched, and briefly arrested in Texas on their way to a show. Here’s hoping that the band’s run of bad luck has ended following Mike Patton’s accident.

At this stage, there’s no current news on Patton’s condition, but we’ll keep you updated if any further news comes to light.
