Miley Cyrus has taken to social media to clarify controversial comments she made claiming that women “don’t have to be gay” to find a loving partner.
Taking to her Instagram Live stream over the weekend, Miley Cyrus and new partner Cody Simpson teamed up to discuss their newly-formed relationship.
While touching topics of touring and music, Cyrus also noted how she’s been sober since the pair got together. However, most of the attention was directed at Cyrus’ implication that being gay was a choice, something she seemed to note while gushing about her love of Simpson.
“There are good men out there, guys. Just don’t give up. You don’t have to be gay,” she told her followers. “There are good people with dicks out there. You just gotta find them. You gotta find a dick that’s not a dick, you know what I mean?”
“I always thought I had to be gay because I just thought, like, all guys were evil, but it’s not true,” she added, seemingly referring to ex-husband Liam Hemsworth. “There are good people out there that just happen to have dicks. I’ve only ever met one.”

The backlash for these comments was swift and harsh, with many fans criticising Miley for offending a community that she herself has previously claimed to be a part of. However, a follow-up wasn’t too far behind, with the singer taking to social media to clarify the comments she made.
“I was talking shit about sucky guys, but let me be clear, YOU don’t CHOOSE your sexuality,” Miley explained.
“You are born as you are. It has always been my priority to protect the LGBTQ community I am a part of.”
In related news, Miley Cyrus also used her Instagram Live stream to show off a whiteboard that appears to show a tracklist for her new album. Previously reported to be titled She Is Miley Cyrus, the new record appears to feature a handful of tracks from her She Is Coming EP, in addition to a bunch of new songs.
Consisting of 13 tracks in total, and seemingly set for release on November 23rd (Miley’s 27th birthday), the record appears to also feature collaborations with the likes of Cardi B and Shawn Mendes. Whether these collaborations are legit or not remains to be seen, but we won’t have long before we find out for sure.
