The Fox Party are a Melbourne trio who have previous described themselves as ‘jangling fun’, and after giving their debut EP Mock Dream a good old listen, you might be inclined to agree.

With guitar-led tracks rich with harmonies and some pretty catchy choruses, you would be hard pressed to say you didn’t enjoy The Fox Party ride.

Their songs, though technically simple, have a thrumming appeal which, on tracks like ‘Pinch’, is more fun than a sack full of weasels.

Other notable mentions on this debut include ‘European Holiday’, a bouncy-as-hell pop tune and the melodic ‘Cyclical’.

This three-piece are talented enough to pull off fun harmonies and flit between pop and indie with ease.

The record wouldn’t be out of place in a summertime road trip compilation, and once you’ve heard it blasting out of your speakers you’ll probably be making plans to see them live.

Lyrically it’s fun and well worth a listen. Chuck it on the stereo, turn it up and let yourself shimmy along. You won’t regret it.
