Last month, Montaigne returned with her first new material since her stunning debut album, Glorious Heights. The track, ‘For Your Love’, is a track that explores a toxic relationship with equal parts vulnerability and defiance.

In an interview with Triple J, Montaigne delved into the meaning of the track, sharing “It’s a reference back to that same relationship and the weird sexual toxicity of it.”

The accompanying music video was a surreal and sensual visual feast. It features Montaigne, clad in bondage rope in a series of compromising positions. From squirming through the halls of a house to standing en-pointe attached to a hills hoist.

Montaigne released a behind the scenes video detailing the creative process behind the clip. In the video, Montaigne interviews writer and director Prad Sen. It’s a fantastic insight into one of this year’s most ambitious and subversive music video. Check it out below.
