Kickstart My Heart cause there’s a new Spongebob movie on the way and Motley Crue are the music behind all the madness. Match made in heaven I say.

Are ya ready, kids? A new Spongebob movie is on the way, and they’ve utilized a rock staple in the trailer — Motley Crue’s ‘Kickstart My Heart.’

The Spongebob Movie: Sponge On The Run is a brand new animated film following the journey of our favourite underwater Sponge who finds out that his pet snail, Gary, has been “snailnapped.” Although the rock anthem was written by Nikki Sixx after an overdose in which his heart quite literally stopped beating, it still makes for an incredible pairing behind one of the most iconic animated characters this century.

The Spongebob Movie: Sponge on the Run will be out in May 2020. Watch the trailer below.

In recent Motley Crue news, Nikki Sixx has touched on the fact that Mötley Crüe will never be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, with the institution seemingly banning the group from induction.

While the likes of The Cure, Stevie Nicks, Roxy Music, and Radiohead were all inducted last week, plenty of folks have wondered why some of the bigger names in rock history are yet to make it in.

Speaking to Kerrang! recently, Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx touched upon the idea of the group breaching their “cessation of touring agreement” to perform at the Rock Hall induction ceremony.

“I was actually doing an interview with Tommy [Lee] a couple of weeks ago, and we were asked if we would ever play together again,” Sixx began.

“And Tommy said, ‘I don’t know. Maybe if we got into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame or something, we could dust off a couple of our old classics.’”

“I was, like, ‘Really?’ And he said, ‘Why not?’ But we don’t have any plans because we were told by the Hall Of Fame that we would never get in, because of how we’ve acted, so that’s kind of it.”
