Teignmouth rockers Muse have always had a flair for the dramatic. The band are renowned for their boundary-pushing live shows. Now, it looks as if the band have pushed their bombastic production to its limit.

The band are currently in the midst of their Simulation Theory tour. In a recent interview with Miami New Times, frontman Matt Bellamy admits that the band have “finally gone too far.”

The Simulation Theory tour is, by all accounts, an incredibly ambitious live production. However the band ahave admitted that they have brought the technology “slightly more down-to-earth.”

Don’t worry though, there are still lasers, a giant alien robot, BMX stunts and dancers galore. Just don’t expect to see any drones flying around your head.

“Robots do appear at some point in the show, and, you know, they’re pretty threatening,” Bellamy explained. “I didn’t think we could go this far, but we’ve finally gone too far.

“At some point, you’ve got to find the limits of what you can do in a rock show. It feels like no one else is doing that in the world of guitar music. It feels pretty unique at the moment.”

Drummer Dom Howard has echoed Bellamy’s statement, sharing that he is unsure of how the band would go about upping their game for the next tour.

“This is very much about the spectacle, this tour, but the antithesis would be to do something that’s purely about the music and nothing else, which is most likely what we’ll do in the future. At this stage, I don’t know. It’s either back down to Earth or straight into space,” he shared.

Muse are yet to announce an Australian run for their Simulation Theory tour. The last time the band graced our shores was in December 2017, when they played two shows in Melbourne and Sydney. Check out a teaser for the Simulation Theory tour below.
