This one is pure Spinal Tap. At Germany’s Rock Am Ring Festival over the weekend, Muse debuted their new UFO stage prop. Reminiscent of Black Sabbath’s Stonehenge prop which was too big for most stages of Mötorhead’s Lancaster bomber prop, this one also had unintended consequences. The size of the prop blocked MTV’s satellite broadcasting signal at the event, blowing out their broadcast of Slayer’s set from the event.
To quote David St Hubbins of Spinal Tap; “I do not, for one, think that the problem was that the band was down. I think that the problem *may* have been, that there was a Stonehenge monument on the stage that was in danger of being *crushed* by a *dwarf*. Alright? That tended to understate the hugeness of the object.”
