Shaping up to be Australia’s biggest export for 2014 The Jezabels will be hitting the UK shores with typical mix of twisted, playful pop fused with noir tones. The band’s second album The Brink, produced by Dan Grech Marguerat (Radiohead, Lana Del Rey, The Vaccines, Hurts), is released in the UK on 17th February and their second single from the album Look Of Love is out on Monday 24th February through Play It Again Sam.
Loaded with chiming guitars and a propulsive beat, Look of Love comes complete with a monster chorus that ensnares a claim on your consciousness. The track, like its parent album, captures a band hopelessly in love with texture, dynamics and subtlety.
Having spent the majority of the previous two years on the road, the band pulled into London at the start of 2013 and began work on The Brink. Late 2013 saw a sold out Scala performance in London to launch the album, bracketed by main support slots to both Depeche Mode and The Pixies. The Jezabels return to full scale touring in 2014.
Starting the year with a headline run at Australia’s seven-city, international (also taking in Singapore and New Zealand) Laneway Festival, The Jezabels will be only the third Australian band to close the event. The band then head over to Europe for the album launch and the start of an expansive tour.
