My Chemical Romance and it’s fans have eyeliner that is even more smudged than usual at the moment as drummer Bob Bryar has ‘left’ the band. Guitarist Frank Iero put out a statement on the band’s website announcing that Bryar, who stepped up to the kit from the drum tech position in 2004, had fallen out of step with The Black Parade.
“Recently it seems as though every time we write to you guys we have bad news, and we apologise for that, but we’ve learned in life you can’t have the sweet without the sour … As a band we have been very fortunate over the years that our sweet times have greatly outweighed the sour ones, and a great deal of that is owed to you, the fans. Which is why we wanted this news to come from us and not some bullshit gossip site.
As of four weeks ago, My Chemical Romance and Bob Bryar parted ways. This was a painful decision for all of us to make and was not taken lightly. We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavours and expect you all to do the same.”
There’s no need for fans to top themselves just yet though – despite cancelling performances recently at the Soundwave Festival in Australia, they have been recording again and are threatening to drown the world in tears by releasing a new album.
