Iceland is the world’s largest exporter of music, its dark and cold weather apparently having some sort of influence on creating entirely raw music that evokes dark emotions one may not have even known that they had (until they go to Iceland, seemingly). One of the most underrated bands that they have produced over the past decade is Singapore Sling. In May of this year they released their sixth album Never Forever.

Singapore Sling – Never Forever by Outlier Records

The title track Never Forever is just repetitive and trancey enough to make you happily sink into a hypnotized (perhaps drug-induced) state. The looped layer of sounds that come in throughout the track are simple but effective, creating the most effect when the guitar sets in, creating a sense of walking a tight rope. As a lone track, it is slightly underwhelming, but as with most records in this style, all songs have to be listened to in succession to be fully appreciated.
