Amy Winehouse has put down the crack pipe long enough to record a new single – a highly appropriate cover of Lesley Gore’s 1963 classic ‘It’s My Party’. The song leaked last night – who knows – perhaps Amy was a bit short to pay her dealer and had to do a contra deal. Recorded and produced by Mark Ronson, the fairly faithful cover includes classic Ronson touches such as brass and Motown style back up vocals. The track is set to appear on the Quincy Jones-curated album Q: Soul Bossa Nostra, which also includes covers by Akon, Usher, and more.
