It’s with a heavy heart that we announce that a live music venue that bestowed such promise will sadly shut up shop this month, despite having opened at the beginning of this year.
Vinyl, one of Adelaide’s freshest faces in the live music game has sadly taken to their Facebook to announce that after failing to obtain a long term tenure in the building they will close their one-of-a-kind entertainment area on Sunday 23 May.
Situated at 20 Gilbert Street in the heart of the South Australian capital, Vinyl held a mass amount of potential in fostering up-and-coming local musical talent, as well as serving up a delicious range of cocktails, having only opened at the start of 2015 after some issues late in 2014.
Operators Bodhi Thomas and Theo Campbell took to their Facebook to announce the shock closure, “To our dearest and most valued community, patrons, musicians, family and friends. What a wild and wonderful ride Vinyl has been. It is with a heavy heart we announce the conclusion of this adventure on the 23rd May 2015 because we were unable to negotiate long term tenure in the building.
“Thank you for your support, musicianship and memories: Please come visit us over the next few weeks, we have a full schedule of local live music!! We will post soon for info on our plans for the closing night party and the final show down!!”
All scheduled live music will still go ahead leading up to the day of closure, with one helluva party planned to close-out what was an exciting few months as one of Adelaide’s best kept secrets.
