Asta Australian Tour 2013

First grabbing attention for winning Triple J’s 2012 Unearthed High competition, 19-year-old Tasmanian sensation Asta has announced her first headline East Coast tour with a series of all-ages and under-18s shows planned for each capital city. The young music maverick landed at #49 on Triple J’s Hottest 100 with ‘My Heart Is On Fire’ before releasing follow-up singles ‘Escape’ and, most recently, ‘I Need Answers’. Honing her live show opening for Birds Of Tokyo and Hungry Kids Of Hungary, as well as well-received slot at Pyramid Rock Festival 2012, Asta and her talented band will hit the road this September/October, playing shows across the Aussie mainland before winding up with a special show at the The Void, located inside Hobart’s famed MONA gallery.

Foals Australian Tour 2013 Nearly Sold Out

Oxford alt-rockers Foals are back in the country next month for their extensive national tour, and with national support from Melbourne six-piece Alpine, it’s no surprise that the UK quintet’s dates are nearly completely sold out. The band’s second massive date at Mebourne’s Palace Theatre sold out this week, with only tickets to the band’s opening leg in Perth, along with their dates in Adelaide and second Sydney show at the Enmore Theatre still available, but selling quickly. Foals arrive in the country following slaying Big Day Out audiences in January and with material from their latest album Holy Fires in tow. “I think there is a distinct difference between our live shows and our records,” keyboardist Edwin Congreave told Tone Deaf in an interview. “We still like to play very intensely with a lot of aggression at the live show.”  Don’t miss your chance to see Foals!

Murphy’s Law Australian Tour 2013

New York Hardcore icons, Murphy’s Law, are amped up for their first Australian tour in their 30 year career. Cornerstones of the American hardcore legacy, Murphy’s Law ride the line between obnoxious skatepunk, grooving urban rock ‘n roll, and molten metal. While most of their contemporaries and followers aimed to be the most brutal, tough or politically conscious band around, Murphy’s Law instead promoted an upbeat party attitude. Through countless line up changes, Murphy’s Law’s lone remaining founder is Jimmy Gestapo, always the life of the party, Gestapo has a reputation for making sure every punter in the crowd has a damn good time! The first-ever Down Under dates for the hardcore legends will see them bringing their wreckloose live show to venues across the East Coast this September. Don’t miss this rare chance to see Murphy’s Law.

Charlie Horse Australian Tour 2013

After releasing their debut album I Hope I Am Not A Monster to critical acclaim in 2012, Sydney’s Charlie Horse are ready to return with their sophomore follow-up release, Strange Passengers (out 11 October via Plus On Records). The spirit that embodies the first album is still bubbling in their new songs, now mixing with the ghosts of post punk, Phil Spector, and indie rock. These influences can be heard in the first single to be lifted from Strange Passengers, ‘Deep Water’, a mix of brooding vocals over drum lines. The band are also playing a handful of live shows, starting across the pond in New Zealand, for the new single which will finish in their native NSW.

19th Oct – Auckland, New Zealand

25th Oct – The Old Manly Boatshed, Manly

The All Seeing Hand Australian Tour 2013

Ahead of releasing their second album Mechatronics (on 1st October via Tenzenmen), New Zealand three-piece The All Seeing Hand have announced they’ll be bringing their one of a kind show – a milieu of throat singing, frenzied drumming and thundering monophonic turntable tones – to Australia. After making friends with Melbourne’s Mesa Cosa during a stand-out set at New Zealand’s prestigious Cam A Low Hum earlier this year, The All Seeing Hand – turntablist Alphabethead, vocalist Jonny Marks, and drummer B Michael Knight – roped in the band to promote their Australian tour. Their track ‘Throat‘ is a must-see, displaying their blend of dissonant, dense beauty and a live show that leaves observers in an ecstatic state of both wonder and confusion.

Thursday 10 October – Boney, Melbourne (/w Mesa Cosa and Duck Duck Chop)

Friday 11 October – Cosmo’s Rock Lounge, Sydney (/w Broadcasting Transmitter and Milkk)

Saturday 12 October – The Brisbane, Hobart (/w special guests)
