England had The Sex Pistols and The Clash. America had The Ramones, The Stooges and of course the New York Dolls. The Dolls are in Australia touring nationally as part of The Boroughs national tour, but the home of rock n roll in Melbourne, Cherry Bar in AC/DC lane, has managed to tempt the ultimate purveyors of glam rock into their seedy belly for one special and truly intimate night.
The last time New York Dolls toured they played 1000 capacity venues so the chance to see them in such an intimate setting will definitely make it a must see show allowing you to get up close and personal. Tickets are $25 and there are no presales so you’ll have to get there nice and early when doors open at 6pm to secure a spot.
Bands start at 9pm, Spencer P Jones & the Escape Committe in support with DJ Maxwell Von Crawdaddy until 3am. Could this be the gig of the year? We know we’re not going to miss it.
