Morrissey, never afraid to use the legal process to get his own way, has called in the lawyers to halt a newly uncovered demo tape of him singing that was about to be broadcast in a BBC documentary about producer Stephen Street. The 20 second snatch of Morrissey singing without musical accompaniment was to be included to demonstrate what a good voice Morrissey has. Street has put out a statement saying “Both the BBC and myself received a letter from Morrissey’s solicitors threatening an immediate injunction preventing any broadcast unless the material was removed,” Apparently their client[ Morrissey] was ‘horrified that the proposed material would be broadcast’.”

I can not understand this way of thinking at all. Throughout the programme I am extremely in full praise of Morrisey and the demo was intended to show that even when he was singing on a four-track cassette he still sounded great!” Street finished with a swipe at Mozzer, saying “Oh well, some things (or people) never change!”
