Australian dance music just got a massive leg up with the announcement that EMI Music Australian and dance music promoter Future Entertainment have launched an exclusive label deal between the two major music companies.
The deal will see the establishment of ‘Future Music’, a new and exclusive label that see he release of various compilations, artist signings from big international superstars through to the hottest emerging local talent, ticketing bundle offers, brand partnerships and much more to be announced soon.
In Australia, dance & electronic music has been very much on the agenda with a raft of global and international club successes impacting across all the right media forms. These have come from Australia-signed artists as diverse as Empire Of The Sun, Miami Horror, The Slips, Sam Sparro, Ricki-Lee, Gold Fields, The Aston Shuffle and 360.
“Future Entertainment, year after year, have delivered the highest calibre of dance music artists to Australian audiences,” says EMI Music Chairman Mark Poston.
“Since the inception of both the Summadayze and Future Music Festivals, Future Entertainment has continued to deliver not only the biggest and most recognised names in the business, has also endeavoured to nurture new talent and introduce breaking artists to the Australian market from all around the world.”
EMI has a long history of working with the top names in dance and electronic music, from the pioneers such as Kraftwerk through to seminal artists such as The Chemical Brothers, Massive Attack, Depeche Mode, Daft Punk, and LCD Soundsystem.
This success continues today with EMI Music’s top electronic artists and DJs such as David Guetta, deadmau5, Nervo, Swedish House Mafia and Eric Prydz, and partnerships between the label and Future Entertainments festivals seems to be a no-brainer.

Indeed just today Future Entertainment announced the lineup for Summadayze 2013, with who else but EMI act The Chemical Brothers headlining the popular summer music festival. Keep an eye out for more crossovers in the future.
