They’re currently undertaking their debut tour of stadiums across Australia, but in either a shameless marketing ploy or a very real threat, Gorillaz may be playing some of their last gigs of this nature. Damon Albarn has told The Age that he thinks the band “… couldn’t keep going at this size and pace.” His bandmate, Jamie Hewlett, who designs all the band’s cartoons and visuals and once shared a house with Albarn says, “This would be a wonderful point to leave Gorillaz; at the end of this tour, I think.” However, Hewlett does qualify his thoughts, saying . “That’s not a statement. I’m just saying if that were the case . . . Gorillaz is more like a big sprawling gang of people you could do any number of projects with.”

You can catch what might be the first and only Australian Gorillaz shows at these dates:

Wednesday 8th December – Entertainment Centre, Adelaide
Saturday 11th December – Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne
Thursday 16th December – Entertainment Centre, Sydney
Sunday 19th December – Entertainment Centre, Brisbane
