Metronomy fans rejoice! Due to popular demand, Metronomy will be playing two additional shows in Sydney and Brisbane this January. Already playing Sydney’s Field Day on New Year’s Day and Summafieldayze on January 2, Metronomy have responded to the call of their fans and will also be playing The Zoo, Wednesday January 4th 2012 and Manning Bar, Thursday January 5th.

Oscar + Martin will be special guests at both shows plus the already announced Melbourne show at the Hi-Fi on Friday January 6th.

We spoke to Metronomy earlier this year about their impending tour and founder Joseph Mount let us in on what Australian audiences can expect from the band on stage. “We try to put in as much as everything as we can really. If we’ve only got half an hour we’ll try to chuck in as many new ones as we can,” he said.

“But I guess we treat the live thing quite differently. We don’t imagine what we do live is going to be exactly what we do on the record. We allow ourselves quite a margin of what we can experiment doing live. We don’t spend hours and hours trying to be perfect.”
