The fine folks at I Oh You have some very exciting news. They’re throwing a killer label party and you’re invited.

Suitably titled CALL THE COPS, it feautures a group of  mad musical friends throwing two wild parties in Sydney and Melbourne the weekend before their bender continues at Splendour In The Grass, where all three acts are playing.

Yacht Club DJs, DZ Deathrays and Bleeding Knees Club will come together to cause a raucous at The Corner Hotel in Melbourne (Thursday July 19) and The Factory Theatre in Sydney (Friday July 20).

And now an APB on our partners-in-crime:

Over the past few years Gareth Harrison and Guy Chappell-Lawrence have earned their reputation as Australia’s premier mash-up act as the sweaty maniacs behind Yacht Club DJs. The duo have appeared at festivals including Splendour In The Grass, Meredith Music Festival, Parklife and many more, with their skillful mixes and carefully chosen party edits cementing their name as they tear through the country selling out their own headlines shows. Their third and most recent mixtape, They Mostly Come At Night…Mostly catapulted them onto their biggest national tour yet – and another sell-out.With an armory of tracks from pop to punk, rock to rap, Yacht Club DJs are set to blow venues apart at CALL THE COPS.

Having recently released their debut album Bloodstreams (produced by Richard Pike of PVT), DZ Deathrays have enjoyed much critical acclaim and left fans across the world more than satisfied. The Brisbane duo has been constantly named an act to watch this year by well-respected music advocators such as NME, BBC1, Rolling Stone Magazine and many more plus toured with acts such as Foo Fighters, Crystal Castles, Unknown Mortal Orchestra and as part of St Jerome’s Laneway Festival all in the last six months. DZ Deathrays have just completed an extremely successful Australian tour and are currently tearing through a European headline tour before they head to the USA and Canada for a tour with Bass Drum of Death (Fat Possum Records). The thrash-party duo will return to Australia in July for CALL THE COPS and appearances at Splendour in the Grass and Spin Off Festival before relocating to Europe for the rest of 2012.

Wrapping up the three-way  headliner line-up will be the fresh faced surf-punk duo Bleeding Knees Club. The two friends recently completed a national headline tour (which largely sold out) after releasing their sun-soaked debut album Nothing To Do (produced by Blood Orange aka Dev Hynes) which SPIN Magazine described as “two snots playing ’60s-inspired Brill Building pop with the joyous punk energy of millennials”. With their new single “Girls Can Do Anything” just being serviced to radio, it’s an exciting time for Jordan and Alex as they  pproach appearances on both Spin Off and Splendour in the Grass Festivals before jetting off overseas once more.

Finally as something a little bit different the three acts will be selling a tour EP available only at the CALL THE COPS shows which will feature a DZ Deathrays track, Bleeding Knees Club track and Yacht Club DJs remixes of both BKC and DZ.

In the words of LCD Soundsytem: “the neighbours can’t call the police!”

Damn right.
