Falls Festival, who recently added to their New Years lineup with a second round of acts, adding the likes of The Hives, Two Door Cinema Club, Julia Stone and more to an already awesome lineup including The Flaming Lips, Beach House and The Vaccines; went on sale this morning after filing out its ballot.
Unfortunately though, Oztix – who are hosting the ticket sales – has gone into meltdown, with the immense demand for the 3-day festival causing a swathe of technical issues on the website, with punters fearing that the Festival has already sold-out while other potential ticketholders have had difficulties even accessing the online website.
Falls organisers took to their official Facebook page to explain that “OzTix are experiencing some technical difficulties at the moment. We are working through them asap, sit tight!”
While the ticketing vendor posted on their own Facebook page, simply saying, “guys, we’ve been experiencing extremely high demand for Falls Festival tickets. The matter is being resolved as we speak. We can reassure you that neither event is sold out. We will keep you updated.”
They’ve both reassured ticket-buyers that the event has not sold out (yet), but fans have already voiced their anger on social media, venting with comments ranging from the acerbic (“Whats that?! 50% off for all the people you have fucked? Thanks Falls!”), to the pointed (“not good enough, this is your job. Waive the booking fee.”); down to the humorous (“This is making me age at an alarming rate”).
The most recent update from Falls Festival is that “Lorne 4 day and 3 day ballot tickets are VERY close to selling out! Lorne 2 day and Marion Bay tickets are still available.” Bus still, many have voiced their anger over invalid tokens, the website crashing at the checkout.
There has been a direct link to the ticket sales set up by organisers, which you can access here; but needless to say it looks there may be more upset and disappointed punters once the dust settles than those making the trek to Lorne and Marion Bay.
