Following on from the (nearly sold out) Blink 182 Sidewave announcements, another major pop-punk act have announced one very special one-off headline show in conjunction with their appearance on the massive Soundwave Festival 2013 bill.
After announcing themselves to a new legion of fans with their sophomore effort, Riot, PARAMORE are now suitably armed to go forth and conquer. Introduced to the rock elite after a swift and stratospheric rise, the trio have millions of album sales, a Grammy nomination, and a slew of sold out signs gracing stadiums across the globe to their name.
Today, Soundwave Touring are proud to announce that they’ll be hosting one very special show for Paramore, to play their only Australian headline show at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney on Thursday 21 February.
Paramore are of course also appearing as part of the February touring festival, alongside the biggest festival bill of 2013, with AJ Maddah recently confirming that he’d be adding two more acts to the 73-strong, sold-out festival lineup.
Glancing at the Soundwave 2013 lineup, the allure is obvious. Punters racing to catch three of metal’s ‘Big Four’, with the second round announcement seeing Slayer joining headliners Metallica, and Anthrax; or wanting to see Blink 182 – complete with fear-of-flying drummer Travis Barker – in their first Ausrtalian show in over a decade.
Then there are the more populist acts rounding out the bill, including Linkin Park, pop-punk veterans The Offspring, along with the likes of Garbage and Paramore. And let’s not forget the heavy and hard variety, such as Bullet For My Valentine, Tomahawk, Stone Sour, Kyuss Lives – the list goes on and on.
